Living in Alaska
As we are driving on the long dirt road, I look out the window and I see mountains that are covered with snow, even though there is grass on the ground. We seem to be the only ones driving here because I have not seen any cars for miles now, except for a couple trucks. I look to the left, and I see a huge pipe that looks like it goes on forever.
At that moment I remember how my grandma used to tell me stories about living there and how my dad used to run through the pipe lines with other children when he was little. The way she described life here is that if you lived in Alaska, you have to learn to work with what you have because it can be tough if you don’t. And it was tough and still is. It is crazy to think that before this land was discovered, people still lived in Alaska in freezing temperatures. They came here over the bering strait land bridge and then claimed this area there permanent home. Native tribes of this land survived theses temperatures, and today they still live out here.
Living in Alaska is tough and you have to really want to live here if you do. Traveling is difficult in almost every way because everything freezes up when winter comes. Winter time then becomes more difficult to live through because it then becomes harder to get supplies like food and other necessities.
As were driving along the dirt path , I imagined myself living here. The landscape of Alaska is beautiful and feels like a perfect place to live. It would be great to wake up every morning and see the high peak mountain that surround you. And be able to hear the sounds of wildlife at night.
It may seems like a perfect place to live but even though it is beautiful here it comes, with difficult times too. Natural disasters are just around the corner you have to keep in mind that it is very possible that something might go wrong. The natural disasters can happen anytime, you can get an earthquake or have a tundra fire. These disasters can cause you to damage your home. Having a positive mindset is key because you can be your worse enemy. Cabin fever happens when you are secluded for too long in one area, this can cause fights and cause you to become angry or depressed this is also why moment is necessary you can’t stay in one place for too long. Alaska Is an interesting place but it also is a secluded place that make doing everyday things a little more difficult. Geography of Alaska makes it beautiful but it also is the same factor that contributes to making life a bit more difficult too. It is important to work with what around you and not against it.
